Chris Gregory and Alex Slaten join as senior sales managers; each have over 20 years of industry experience. Gregory is a veteran of the post industry and SLATEN has served as the director of sales and mar keting for MTI Film and Virtuosity. Additionally, he han- dled sales duties for Selluloid,Video-It Post,West Coast East Television, Schulman Studios and CNC Visual. He is a member of the HPA. Slaten has ex- perience as a producer, director, cameraman and editor.He has taught After Effects and Photoshop at the American Film Institute and Montana Edit. He’s also worked with Intelligent Media, Post-Op Video and Creative Media Partners. ALICIA BALESTRINO, JONATHAN BUDINE NYC’s Motiv and PBS. He most recently worked with Point.360 as senior Smoke artist, and spent time as a Smoke artist for WBZ-TV in Boston. MASON ALBERT MASON Adelaide, South Australia-based Rising Sun Pic- tures, which specializes in film VFX and most re- cently provided shots f or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has added Albert Masonas head of production. He brings experience in man- aging large production teams on high-profile pro- jects such as Spider-Man 3, Hancock, Ghost Rider, The Polar Express and The Lord of the Rings. He previously spent seven years with Sony Pictures Imageworks in Culver City, CA, and three years at Weta Digital in Wellington, New Zealand. AIDAN THOMAS Visual effects company Methodin LA has hired senior Smoke artist Aidan Thomas e, which specializes in IDs, branding, interactive, creative development and live-action production, has added producer BUDINE Alicia Balestrinoand senior editor/director Jonathan Budine to its creative team. Balestrino got her start at Black Logic and then LONGCHAMPS moved to Grey, where she rose to the position of VP/EP and manager of the company’s in-house post facility. Most recently, she worked as pro- ducer and operations manager for Moving Im- ages, producing graphics and online editorial for TV and film. In her new role, she will oversee pro- ject management, handling everything from client facilitation to budgeting and scheduling. Budine, a longtime editor for CBS, was instru- mental in br inging the netw ork on board as a client. He has produced and directed live sporting events, as well as w orked on national political events and talk shows for TNT and Discovery. He served as an online editor for the films Bowling for Columbine and The Kid Stays in the Picture. MARK LONGCHAMPS Full-service creative house Shooters P ost & Transfer in Philadelphia has added Smoke/Flame artist Mark Longchamps to its creative team. He brings editorial, broadcast design and feature film exper ience. MIKE PRESTWOOD SMITH Re-recording mixer Mike Prestwood Smith has joined CSS Studios’Todd-A O facility in Santa Monica. Prestwood Smith is relocating to the Los Angeles area from the UK and will be based on Stage 7 at Todd-AO West. He is a BAFTA winner for his work on Casino Royale, and has worked on multiple installments in the James Bond and Harry Potter franchises. PRESTWOOD SMITH DARIN KUHLMANN LA’s Digital Jungle has named Darin KuhlmannEP/director of sales. He is a 20-year veteran of the entertainment industry and will focus on bringing in new accounts,maximizing cur- rent client relations and executive producing pro- jects.
