DSEA's Professional Development Series 2013-2014 November 2013 SMART Board Training Focus: How to effectively use SMART Board technology in the classroom. DSEA is proud to sponsor a day of SMART Board training with Delaware's SMART-certified trainer, Greg Mentzer. This six-hour session will cover: introduction to the SMART Board; introduction to Notebook software; objects in Notebook software; linking, attaching sound and inserting movies; creating interactive lessons; exporting, posting, attaching and printing Notebook files. Each participant will receive a training manual and a certificate of attendance. This is a very popular workshop. Space is limited so please register early. This training also qualifies for clock hours. November 2, Del Tech Dover Campus 8:00 a.m. registration 8:30-4:00 session Registration deadline is October 28. You asked – DSEA listened! All of these sessions are free to DSEA members and many will be helpful to all members, not only teachers. In October Common Core Implementation was provided three times, led by Jeannette Wilt of Brandywine (high school mathematics teacher), Linda Brown (elementary teacher in Capital) and Marsha Evans, a mathematics teacher at Wm. Penn High School in Colonial, and SMART Board training was a hit at DelTech Community College. If you missed it, it will be offered again on Saturday, November 2 in Dover. October 2013 Common Core Implementation – Understanding the Instructional Shifts This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to the ELA/Literacy shifts and a foundation for the most important shifts in mathematics. Participants will learn why the shifts are critical to their work, what the shifts look like in practice, and how to determine whether your school is making progress. Please register early to guarantee your seat. This professional development workshop does qualify for clock hours.
