NOSE-ABLES A Stateside Anchor for Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Gin T No. 3 is a gin from Berry Bros. & Rudd, newly imported by Anchor Brewers & Distillers. op people’s liquor store Berry Bros & Rudd, London’s oldest wine merchant, has established a new distribution partnership with Anchor Brewers & Distillers of San Francisco and will introduce two of Berry Bros. & Rudd’s award-winning spirits not currently available in the U.S. Linked to this development, Anchor will shortly launch its Center of Excellence, which the company claims will “serve as an epicenter of development, education, entertainment and innovation, all designed to further contribute to the culture and heritage of craft beer and artisan spirits.” Anchor founder Fritz Maytag has been appointed Chairman Emeritus of the new venture, to be managed day to day by Chairman Keith Greggor and CEO Tony Foglio. Berry’s David King, Spirits Strategy and Marketing Director, will relocate to San Francisco. [At least he’s already used to fog! —Ed.] New from Berry Bros. to the portfolio will be The King’s Ginger liqueur and the recently launched No. 3 Gin. Using just three fruits and three botanicals in its recipe, No. 3 Gin is bottled at 46% abv and takes its name from Berry Bros & Rudd’s address in London: No 3 St. James’s Street. The product itself is designed as the heart of a classic Dry Martini.
