A “U” Turn for THE TASTING PANEL T HE TASTING PANEL’s East Coast Editor, Lana Bortolot, traveled in August to Charleston, SC, home of the renowned Charleston Grill, created by Chef Bob Waggoner. Chef Bob invited food and wine pros to appear on UCook!, his new cooking show that fuses his love for Low Country cooking and his 11-year-long Burgundy experience. As one of his three “foodies,” Lana provided commentary on the wine selections and their culinary pairings. “I grew up in a restaurant, and for years a chef’s apron was my main wardrobe staple,” says our editor, adding, “I was last on TV when I was 12 years old, on a kid’s aca- demic game show. It was time to update my image!” UCook! will air on PBS affi liate stations in some 300 cities across the country, beginning in November 2010. To create her golden cage, Patricia imitated and amplifi ed the twisting motion used to manufacture ordinary cork cages, creating a contemporary take on the traditional object that suggests a certain art de vivre while serving a useful purpose. The “Collection Prestige” includes one bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blanc and one bottle stopper and retails for $69.95 exclusively at Sherry-Lehmann Wine & Spirits.
