PRODUCTS www.postmagazine.com 32 POST MAR/APR 2024 NUGEN AUDIO UPDATING LOUDNESS METER PLUG-IN LEEDS, UK — At the NAB show in Las Vegas, Nugen Audio (www.nugenaudio.com) will preview VisLM 3, the forthcoming version of its loudness metering plug-in. Included among the new features are user-defined program segments suitable for projects that require multiple integrated measurements (such as between ad breaks), support for up to 22.2 channels, stem monitoring and loudness measure- ment for separate deliverables. The VisLM plug-in is a loudness meter that's designed to deliver everything intuitively, accurately and immediately. It has a full set of international and regional presets, including all common international loudness standards for streaming, TV and film. It can also be fully configured for legacy, platform/sta- tion-specific or internal specifications. New downloadable presets will keep users aware of changing loudness standards without having to wait for a point release update. The software will also incorporate Nugen's Jotter functionality, making it possible to include timestamped notes, comments and annotations within a project. MT 48 AUDIO INTERFACE RECEIVES 'IMMERSIVE' UPGRADE BERLIN, GERMANY — Neumann.Berlin (www.neumann.com) has upgraded its MT 48 audio interface with the Monitor Mission, which transforms the unit into a freely configurable monitoring controller. In addition to mono and stereo, the Monitor Mission can also handle surround formats, such as 5.1, as well as im- mersive audio formats, such as Dolby Atmos 7.1.4. The upgrade opens up a new range of applications for the unit, particularly in the mixing and mastering sector. The Monitor Mission includes flexible bass management and complex alignment functions to adjust the frequency and time domain characteristics of loudspeakers to the listening position. The downmix feature allows multi- channel audio to be monitored in either mono or stereo. An extensive range of connectivity options make it possible to connect studio monitors in a variety of ways, whether analog or digital, via S/PDIF or ADAT. It's even possible to combine several connection types for one speaker group. Using the four analog monitor outs and an external ADAT converter, systems of up to 7.1.4 can be realized. In addition, the built-in AES67 interface allows the connection of professional, multi-channel converters, such as the Merging Hapi MKII and/or Neumann studio monitors in the AES67 version. The Monitor Mission does not require a download, but is part of the MT 48 firmware from Version 1.6.x, which was released in February. The Monitor Mission is activated via an individual software key. Users who register their MT 48 ($1,850) with the manufacturer before July 1st will receive their activation key for the Monitor Mission free of charge.
