about their traditions. We usually organize service conferences
prior to shooting, putting together all the relevant authorities
and cultural heritage representatives connecting them to solve
any possible problems and obtain the best results. When a
production ends, I like to remember the process to realize the
scenes, the good and the difficult moments. I think we are very
privileged.
Stevie: WHAT ONE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR YOUNGER
SELF OR SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT IN THIS PROFESSION?
EL: Curiosity always helps. We can always improve and learn.
Being able to speak different languages is very important.
Reduce the distance between you and the crew by listening
and understanding all departments' needs. Keeping your ears
and eyes wide open is the best way to learn this job.
Stevie: WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE LMGI & HOW LONG
HAVE YOU BEEN A MEMBER?
EL: I decided to join it after my experience at the LMGI Awards
in 2018 when I was nominated for Best Period Drama, along-
side Steven Mortimer for All the Money in the World. Though
we didn't win, what was mostly important for me was getting
to know other great location managers, listening to their stories
and just being there with them was a great honor especially
because I have been the first Italian to be nominated and I am
very proud of this.
