Along with the Planet of the Apes series and the disaster epics, he is known for The Greatest Story Ever Told, Flight of the Navigator, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel and The Mod Squad. In addition to his work as a designer, Creber was also a past president of the Art Directors Guild, as well as a longtime member of its council. He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of America. Bill's connection to the industry he loved continued well past his active career, and those lucky enough to attend the Film Society's 50-year anniversary screening of Planet of the Apes last June, were reminded of both the acid wit and the great imagination of this legendary artist.
