Creber 1931-2019 B Y D A V I D M O R O N G , E D I T O R William Creber, Production Designer and Art Director, died in Los Angeles on March 7 at the age of 87. Best known for his work on Planet of the Apes (1967), The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and The Towering Inferno (1974), Creber was nominated three times for the Academy Award in Production Design, once for an Emmy Award, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Art Directors Guild in 2005.
