The show features the work of Stan Johnson, Art Director and Illustrator, known both as a fine artist and for his design work on productions such as Peyton Place and Land of the Giants. An active member of the California watercolor movement in the 1930s, Johnson had a reputation for his impressive abililty to draw and paint in perspective, and this skill as a draughtsman carries over into his expressionistic work. He began his career as a draftsman and architect, working on some of Los Angeles' most significant proposed remodels, including the Ambassador Hotel, the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Prudential Building and the LA Times building.
