B The Romanoff story was woven into the ninth episode, leading to the interesting task of creating an AHS version of the Siberian basement where the family was killed. The interior of Misty's swamp shack was recreated on stage for episodes nine and ten, but in the finale, the three hero witches would need to emerge from graves outside the shack, in a post-apocalyptic scene. After a bit of discussion it was agreed, given the challenges of the scene, it would be best to build this on stage. With a bit more experimentation and as usual, with superb construction coordination by Gary Christiansen, the exterior of the shack was treated as if it had been weathered by a nuclear winter. Then two semitrailers, full of dirt, ash and debris were brought in and placed on a mountain of steel deck, resulting in another success. This article outlines only a fraction of the non-stop challenges faced during this intense season. After four months, ten episodes and 158 sets, the collective victory was to somehow laugh, remain calm (at least outwardly), kind and respectful throughout this E-Ticket thrill ride. ADG C A D E
