Nominations
I
n this amazing year of exemplary Costume Design, we
are proud to present the 2018 Emmy nominees. With 209
submissions, this year's nominees showcase the 70th an-
niversary of the Emmys in a spectacular fashion. Never in the
history of television has there been such a growth of formats
and platforms. The breadth of storytelling exploded and with
it came the demand for exquisite Costume Design. The varied
worlds, realms, and eras of today's storytellers have propelled
costume into a whirlwind of creativity and our designers have
proudly and artistically met that challenge.
Reflecting the growth. Period and Sci-Fi/Fantasy have been
made separate categories. This fourth Emmy category for Cos-
tume Design and Supervision creates a fairer and more equi-
table playing field for submissions. As we continue to support
the vast scope, detailed work, and bravura execution of our
fellow Costume Designers and their teams, we ask you to take
a moment to celebrate this year's talented and deserving nomi-
nees.
