Working in the movie business can be a globetrotting lifestyle.
However, life on location in a new place can be uncharted
territory. During my most recent job away, I had the chance
to work on location in the Pacific Northwest's Vancouver, BC.
Living away from all of the comforts and resources of sunny
Southern California, I found myself pleasantly surprised by
everything this coastal city has to offer.
I love developing the true character in each role. One of
the highlights of the shopping scene in Vancouver is the mul-
titude of designer consignment shops and specialty boutiques
hidden around the city. Unlike Los Angeles, where we have
miles of costume houses to scour, Vancouver has only one
major department store. In order to find those pieces and more
unique designer items, there are a few little gems that I always
rely on.
