CATEGORY REPORT Flavor KALEIDOSCOPIC FLAVORED VODKA IS A CATEGORY SKYWARD BOUND Go-Round E ven the casual observer knows that lavored vodkas are hot commodities. According to the 2012 Technomic���s Adult Beverage Resource, the vodka category as a whole continued to increase at a robust 6.8% in 2011. Vodka now accounts for one out of every three bottles of liquor sold in the U.S. The most vigorous segment of the category��� lavored vodkas���accounted for 27% of all vodkas sold in 2011, up from 23.4% the previous year. Equally noteworthy is almost 75% of the vodkas released last year were lavored, an unprecedented percentage that has continued throughout this year. 122 / the tasting panel / december 2012 by Robert Plotkin
