Hurricanes! Flooding! Disaster! and yes, we have been experiencing all those things. as we approach the 12/21/12 date forecast in ancient calendars, should we be saying goodbye to our planet? Turns out it's not so simple as some would believe. Perhaps there will be death and destruction, but as always, the devil is in the details. sergio Magaña, a healer in the Nahuatl tradition (pg. 26), brings enough clarity to the question that Unesco, the United Nations educational, scientiic and Cultural Organization that was created half-a-century ago to defend peace, has invited him to participate in a ceremony called solstice 2012. along with representatives of eight other traditions, as well as economists and professors, they will explain the importance of ancient wisdom in helping us to navigate current transitions. Isn't it amazing that we're inally honoring the wisdom of our ancestors? Those who went before us often had wisdom to impart on the meaning of life, and we don't have to go back millennia to know that. Less than a century ago Jack Kerouac and others of the Beat Generation set out on a more contemporary search for meaning, and Kerouac's iconic book about it, On EDITOR IN CHIEF the road, has been made into a ilm set for release Abigail Lewis this holiday season.
