{ SOMMjournal.com } 49 Dear SommFoundation and the Court of Master Sommeliers, I am writing to thank you for your gener - ous International Advanced Sommelier Course scholarship. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient. I am a Mexican sommelier currently working in the hotel industry, and as you might know, in Mexico we are trying to increase the quality and the high standards of the sommelier profession. I plan to pur - sue the Advanced Sommelier Certifica- tion next year and continue my education and training to one day earn my Master Sommelier diploma. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that goal. I would also like to take the opportu - nity to give thanks to SommFoundation for being the link to this great opportunity. You have lightened my financial burden, allowing me to focus more on one of the most important aspects of the program: learning.
