Fashionable Fundraiser Torrance Memorial's July Miracle of Living at the Beach health lecture covered a range of orthopedic topics to help all generations, from boomers to millennials, to transcend age. Speakers included orthopedic surgeons Nicholas Silvino, MD, and Don Sanders, MD, as well as family practice physician Eduardo Añorga, MD, physical therapist Richard Shen, PT, and grateful patient Bobbi Newman.How to stay active, when to see an orthopedist, how to manage pain caused by past injuries and how to protect the core and avoid new injuries were discussed. Miracle of Living at the Beach In honor of National Volunteer Week this past spring, manag- ers served Torrance Memorial Auxiliary volunteers who were appreciated at the annual Volunteer Recognition Brunch. The event honored nearly 1,000 volunteers for their various ser- vices, including acting as greet- ers, staffing information desks, helping on patient units, knitting, sewing, pet visitation, playing the piano, escort services and clowning, as well as those who serve as high school volunteers, Luminaries and Novas.
