www.postmagazine.com 40 POST OCTOBER 2017 PEOPLE GRETCHEN PRAEGER Chicago creative studio Carbon has bolstered the team in its Chicago office with the addition of post production veteran Gretchen Praeger, who comes on board as senior producer. Praeger joins Carbon after spending the majority of her career at Optimus, where she served as EP/managing director. Her list of clients included Nintendo, McDonald's, Sears, JCPenney, Allstate, Gatorade, Taco Bell, KFC, Miller Lite and Budweiser. As senior producer, Praeger will ultimately handle project management as it relates to schedules, budgets, people and personalities. JORDAN MELTZER Santa Monica, CA's Eleven has promoted Jordan Meltzer to mixer at the boutique audio studio. An LA native, Meltzer got hooked on sound and be- gan gravitating towards the craft after seeing The Who perform at the Hollywood Bowl at age nine. He played in bands while growing up in the San Fernando Valley, eventually completing his BA in audio post production from Emerson College. After joining Eleven as an intern, he climbed the ranks and took on a newfound role as assistant mixer, building his portfolio on a variety of films and commercials. Some of his client work includes projects for HP, Dodge, Disney, FitBit and Sam Smith. JULIEN VANHOENACKER Director Julien Vanhoenacker is now being represented exclusively in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand by Portland, OR's Bent Image Lab. Vanhoenacker is a live-action director who also brings the innovative perspective of an experienced VFX and CG artist. He is currently working in Bangkok, Thailand and has a list of credits that include surrealistic short films, commercials and music videos. Pairing live action with stunning visual effects to tell brand stories in cinematic style, Vanhoenacker has worked with such brands as Samsung, Isuzu, Mazda, Cadillac and Motorola. Vanhoenacker's latest spot is for IMG Worlds of Adventure in Dubai, called The Magic Ticket. ERIC COMBRIÉ Deluxe's Method Studios in LA, which contin- ues to integrate VFX and VR/AR operations, has promoted Eric Combrié to chief operating officer. Combrié joined Method in 2016 as SVP, global business operations, after having spent nearly two decades at Technicolor in senior financial roles, most recently as division CFO, production services, overseeing finance and operations for VFX, animation, games and post production for entities that included MPC, The Mill, Mr. X and Mikros Image. JANICE W. SUMMERS LA creative studio Midnight Sherpa has retained veteran business development consultant Janice W. Summers to help lead the company growth and sales initiatives for television, OTT marketing, commercials, main titles and direct-to-brand work. Summers brings a diverse entertainment background to Midnight Sherpa. She previously held in-house head of business development positions for a number of creative design agencies, including Imaginary Forces, Loyalkaspar and Charlie Company. Prior to joining Midnight Sherpa, Summers worked at such studios as Creative Artists Agency and Biscuit Filmworks. KATHARINE STARSINIC Creative content company Alkemy X, with offices in New York City and Philadelphia, has added Katharine Starsinic as director of client services & operations. Starsinic is tasked with increasing the company's visibility and working with brand and advertiser clients. She was most recently with Comcast, where she served as director of marketing & communications. There she was involved in planning and executing a full range of marketing efforts, including new product launches, sponsorships and demand generation campaigns. Prior to Comcast, Starsinic spent 10 years as an account director at Wunderman Advertising in New York City where she led integrated and direct teams for clients Citi, AT&T, Microsoft, HP and Pfizer. MATHIEU BERTRAND Framestore has promoted local VFX artist Mathieu Bertrand to the role of head of CG at its Montreal location. Having joined the company soon after its Canadian launch in 2013, Bertrand has witnessed the facility grow from an initial team of 30 to more than 400 VFX artists, production and support staff. Mathieu joined Framestore as a lighting technical director and was soon promoted to the role of CG supervisor on films including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Arrival, Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant and the upcoming Geostorm. A graduate of the NAD Center, he is also currently studying software development part-time at McGill University. JOHN KILSHAW Zoic Studios has promoted John Kilshaw to creative director. Kilshaw joined Zoic's New York studio in 2016 as VFX supervisor and has rapidly shifted to lead the creative direction of projects out of the East Coast office, spanning television, feature film and commercial work. Kilshaw has nearly 15 years of ex- perience in visual effects and has been instrumental in the growth of the NYC office. Kilshaw has worked at such VFX shops as ILM, Method and Double Negative and has lent his talents to such major feature films as The Avengers, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Kilshaw served as VFX supervisor on the Netflix superhero crossover series Marvel's The Defenders and worked on Darren Aronofsky's thriller Mother! starring Jennifer Lawrence.
