Professional development must support the certifi cated teacher in gaining additional credentials and/ or certifi cations in math, science, technology, engineering or career and technical education. Scholarship applicants must: 1. Be an Arizona certifi ed teacher with a current contract at an Arizona public school; 2. Pursue professional development at a regionally or nationally accredited public or private postsecondary educational institution(s) in Arizona; and 3. TOSHIBA 6-12 EDTECH GRANTS Do you have a plan to make science and math learning for engaging for students? Toshiba America Foundation provides grants to educators to support tech-enhanced STEM learning for students. Grants enable educators to roll out match and science project-based learning, and can be used to purchase supplies and materials. Grants requests of less than $5,000 are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year; grants proposals for more than $5,000 are due November 1. Apply online at toshiba.com/taf/612.jsp. SMALL RESEARCH GRANTS FROM SPENCER FOUNDATION The Small Research Grant program from the Spencer Foundation supports education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less. In general, the foundation funds projects that "will contribute to the improvement of education," and the foundation accepts proposals in several areas of study, including the relationship of education and social opportunity, new civics, instructional resources, organizational learning, and purpose of education. PETS IN THE CLASSROOM GRANTS Looking for fi nancial support for a classroom pet? The Pets in the Classroom grants program provides fi nancial support for educators to purchase and maintain small classroom pets. Established by the Pet Care Trust, the grants are designed to students the chance to interact with pets. Educators in grades pre-K through ninth are eligible to apply. LEARNING GRANTS BY SRP Learning Grants by Salt River Project (SRP) provide a unique opportunity that allows schools, teachers, and students from kindergarten through grade 12 to develop projects and programs geared toward the attainment of state-mandated competencies. Specifi cally, the grants support innovative teaching strategies that improve student performance objectives in mathematics and science.
