SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA HOST TORONTO FILM FEST CELEBRATION S AG-AFTRA joined with its Canadian sister union ACTRA to host A Celebration of Cinema at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 12. The inaugural event honored actors and filmmakers attending the soiree, which took place in the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel. SAG-AFTRA elected officers, including President Gabrielle Carteris, Executive Vice President Rebecca Damon, Secretary-Treasurer Jane Austin as well as ACTRA President Ferne Downey and other ACTRA officials, greeted guests. The celebration drew hundreds of festival participants, union members, industry insiders and TIFF rising stars. NextGen Performers is a subcommittee of SAG-AFTRA's Members Organizing Volunteer Efforts Committee. It works to develop, serve and connect the emerging generation of SAG-AFTRA members.
