9 B M & T ••• March/April 2016 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com T he Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has become among the first convention hotels in the coun- try to permanently introduce the latest in Wi-Fi tech- nology in its convention space. The upgrade offers groups fast and reliable internet service capable of handling the largest and most technological demanding groups with ease. The new technology, referred to as high-density Wi-Fi, was pioneered at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel by event internet service provider and hotel partner, XpoNet. After successful tests among some of the world's leading tech- nology groups, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel has permanently installed the system, making it available to groups of all sizes. With the installation, the hotel becomes the largest convention hotel in Florida, to implement this technolo- gy. The new high-density Wi-Fi system is capable of providing groups of more than 15,000 attendees with strong, fast and, perhaps most importantly, reliable internet service. A full back-up system employs the use of multiple internet providers so any outages from one par- ticular provider will go unnoticed by attendees. "Streaming broadcasts of keynote speeches, video confer- encing and multiple personal internet devices used by every attendee has made the need for a fast and smooth internet an absolute must among today's meeting planners," said Gino Marasco, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel direc- tor of sales and marketing. "With this new technology any planner can be comfortable knowing that the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin can comfortably meet their group's digital needs."
