West Coast University is a private university regionally accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), with 7 campus locations in Southern California, Texas and Florida. WCU's nursing programs are all programmatically accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) . WCU offers a range of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. On campus programs include: a 39-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a 34-month LVN to BSN program. Our online** programs include: a 12-month RN-BSN, 24-month RN- MSN, 24-month MSN (multiple tracks available), 36-month MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, as well as a 12-month Master of Health Administration (MHA). The concentrated undergraduate degree programs include all required courses, including pre-requisite courses – with no wait lists for nursing courses*. WCU's innovative approach to education teaches critical thinking, ethical reasoning, leadership and interpersonal skills. Case in point: West Coast University's Simulation Centers. There, life-like, high-fidelity manikins emulate actual patient health challenges, enabling students to develop responsive decision-making and clinical reasoning during simulated medical situations—all in a realistic healthcare environment. "We blend this modern technology with hands-on classroom instruction to reinforce student confidence and strengthen critical thinking skills. That's why our technologically- advanced Simulation Centers are an integral part of our curricula," stated Robyn Nelson, Dean of Nursing at West Coast University. "They afford our students the kind of safe and supportive learning environment so crucial to effective medical education today." While quality classroom education and advanced simulation learning are an essential imperative at West Coast University, clinical experience is an important adjunct. That's why WCU has built extensive clinical relationships that offer students a wide range of options and opportunities. WCU has over 300 hospital and clinical partners nationwide, enabling students to have opportunities to build the knowledge, the education and the experience needed to be contributing members of a healthcare team from the moment they begin their careers. At WCU, we approach healthcare education with students' needs in mind: streamlined programs without wait lists and a dedication to the end result; outstanding professional preparation.
