Garnish with a grapefruit twist over fresh dragonfruit balled and a Polaroid camera selfie photo. Max Solano, Beverage Program Specialist/Whisky & Spirits Educator, Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, took home both the Best Long Drink and Best in Show awards at the 2016 Wholesaler Iron Mixologist Competition. Judge Tobin Ellis, owner of Bar Magic, gave Solano's The Dragon Lady cocktail a perfect score—the first he can ever remember giving out in his many years of judging the competition. The WSWA 74th Annual Convention & Exposition will take place April 18– 21, 2017 in Orlando, FL. The Dragon Lady by Max Solano, Beverage Program Specialist/Whisky & Spirits Educator, Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada 1¾ oz. Rutte Gin ¾ oz. Aperol ¾ oz. Cartron Pompelmousse 1 heaping bar spoon orange marmalade 4–5 thin slices fresh dragon fruit ½ oz. Wilks & Wilson Ginger Syrup 1½ oz. yuzu citrus extract 1 fresh egg white 1½ oz. Fever-Tree Ginger Beer In a mixing glass or tin, combine the marmalade, ginger syrup and dragon fruit and muddle well. Next, add the remainder of the ingredients and dry shake well. Double- strain, add the egg white and dry shake well. Add ice and shake well. Add the ginger beer and stir lightly. Strain into the glass over a Collins ice cube. Garnish with an ice cold metal drinking straw, thin slice of dragon fruit flat on the rim, fresh mint sprig, fresh firestick and two sprays of orange flower water in atomizer.
