28 ADVOCATE | SPRING 2016 Association Governance Statewide Dorothy Green I have consistently participated in political action, advocacy and leadership AEA trainings. Attending the NEA Women and Minority Leadership Conference by invitation of Andrew Morrill was valuable and inspiring. I am ready to serve AEA at the NEA assembly and continue to build my activism and leadership skills. Nicole Cozad As the director for Region 13 on the AEA Board of Directors, it has been my honor to represent you and give you all a voice at the state level. I now ask that you allow me the privilege of representing you at the national level as well. Eboney McKinney Hello Region N! My name is Eboney McKinney and I am running for the Region N delegate position. I am the currently Region 12 director and President of Sierra Vista Classroom Teachers Association and member of the eSWAG advisory Board. It would be an honor to represent our region on the RA floor! David Hernandez III My peers know that I lead through involvement and action. I support my local, AEA and NEA. AEA through membership, advocacy and political action. I have participated at local, Regional, and AEA meetings as I continue my professional growth. It would be an honor to be your representative to NEA. Cesar Cota I am an organized, responsible leader ready to serve. I am a leader who is determined, strong and willing to do what it takes to make our voice to be heard. I was part of the ESP Organizing Task Force and am an advocate for the Cartwright Education Association. Emily Freed Each year that I have taught, I have been elected as a delegate to the AEA Delegate Assembly and the NEA Representative Assembly. The members in my site have also elected me as their Association Representative. Please help me continue working for our Association by voting for Emily Freed! Nidia Lias I've enjoyed every opportunity to participate in our association. It makes me feel empowered and full of resolve. Most of all, I really value the relationships I've built with everyone I've met along the way and the powerful work we've done together. Your vote would be an honor. Joe Thomas Serving as your AEA Vice President requires additional responsibilities to carrying your voice to the national level. As a veteran leader I strive to inform Arizona delegates on the issues, orient new delegates to NEA RA procedures, and ensure everyone feels their voice is heard. I ask for your support. The NEA Representative Assembly, the highest governing body in the NEA, is an important opportunity to place your interests and concerns on the table. Please elect me to bring your voice to the RA. Christy Sainz I would love the opportunity to represent our members at the NEA-RA this July. I have been an AEA / Tucson EA member for 13 years; serving on the EMC Task Force, current EMC Vice Chairs, Latino Outreach Cadre, and presently on the Tucson EA BOD. Thanks for your support. Suzanne Tate No statement submitted Adrienne Henderson-Cole Adrienne Henderson-Cole, a classroom teacher in the Liberty District, National Board Certified Teacher and Arizona Master Teacher has taught and trained throughout the US for more than 20 years. As an AEA member she works to support teachers and most importantly the students that our work impacts. Jason Freed I continue as a leader in our Association. I've served as local president, bargaining team member, PAC Committee member, AEA committee member / chair, and as NEA Director. I've worked hard for our Association and I ask for your help by voting for Jason Freed as an NEA Statewide Delegate. Rachel Stafford As a state/local leader, I am honored to be your representative. The RA grants my ability to carry your voice to the national level, through activism, enthusiasm, and gracefulness. Margaret Chaney I believe in taking action which is why I have proudly served as rep and local Board of Directors member for the past 4 years. My experience has included serving on numerous committees & am proud graduate of the first TLI cadre. Making a difference is what I strive for! Marisol Garcia A proud 8th grade Social Studies teacher, local president, and Region 6 director to the Board of Directors, I believe that I am a strong representative and leader of the AEA membership.
