Eduardo Chaillo is director of the Mexico Tourism Board's (MTB's) Strategic Business Unit for the United States and Canada based in Washington D.C. Chaillo's unit is part of Mexico's new tourism promo- tional strategy, covering all segments of the industry, from sun and beach, to nature to culture; with particular emphasis on business travel, meetings and conventions. Chaillo is a Mexico Tourism Board veteran; previously he was regional director of the MTB's Midwest marketing office in Chicago, where was responsible for leading Mexico's promotional efforts in 12 states through- out the region. Chaillo has served as executive director of the Mexico Convention Bureau, leading international initiatives in the meetings and conventions segment. His experience is recognized internationally; in 2004 he was elected president of the North American Chapter at the International Congress and Convention Association. From 1995 to 1998, Chaillo was secretary of Tourism of the central Mexican state of Zacatecas, whose capital city of the same name was designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). He also served as president of the Zacatecas Restaurant Industry Chamber (CANIRAC). Subsequently, at Mexico's Tourism Secretariat (Sectur), Chaillo was responsible for coordinating the promotion of the alternative, sport and nautical tourism segments. Since 1999, Chaillo has been general director of Mexico's Annual Tourism Tianguis in Acapulco (Tianguis Turistico Acapulco), the country's main tourism industry event. In 2001, he became the Ministry of Tourism's event support coordinator. ChaĆ­llo has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and a master's degree in Finance from the Monterrey Technological Institute (ITESM). Last year he obtained the CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) diploma, the most recognized credential in the worldwide meeting industry. For more information call (800) 929-4555. Wanda Collier-Wilson, Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau's (CVB) president and chief executive officer, is a Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) Champion and was inducted into the international agency's Hall of Champions during the DMAI Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. During the international annual meeting, Collier-Wilson was recognized for her leadership efforts in giving visitors and residents an inside look to the City with Soul. She was also a featured presenter for the conference, in which over thousands of tourism leaders from across the world learned about the new economic developments taking place in Jackson. "It is an honor to be nominated and recognized by my peers and staff," said Wilson. "This award reflects all the hard work of the JCVB staff who work together tirelessly to put Jackson on the map as the premier destination. Together, we strive to tell those in our home- town as well as around the world that the City with Soul is a great place live and visit."
