JUNE 6, 1995 Mexican National Team goalkeeper Jorge Campos became the first -international player signed by MLS and subsequently assigned to the Galaxy. OCTOBER 8, 1995 Rose Bowl selected as site for MLS team in Los Angeles. OCTOBER 17, 1995 Original uniform, logo and colors for the Galaxy and the other nine original MLS clubs unveiled. NOVEMBER 29, 1995 Named Lothar Osiander the Galaxy's first head coach. DECEMBER 8, 1995 Named Octavio Zambrano assistant coach. DECEMBER 8, 1995 Dan Calichman is the second player assigned to Galaxy. JANUARY 10, 1996 Named Ivan Pierra the club's head athletic trainer. FEBRUARY 5, 1996 Salvadoran midfielder Mauricio Cienfuegos and Ecuadorian forward Eduardo Hurtado are the third and fourth players assigned to the Galaxy. FEBRUARY 6-7, 1996 Galaxy selected 16 players in the inaugural MLS Player Draft held at the Hotel Intercontinental in New York City. The Galaxy drafted defender Robin Fraser, goalkeeper David Kramer, midfielder Jorge Salcedo, forward John Garvey, defender Mark Semioli, forward Joey Kirk, forward Harut Karapetyan, defender Curt Onalfo, defender Manny Motajo, midfielder Joey Lenoetti, midfielder John O'Brien, forward Adan Villalvazo, midfielder Brad Wilson, midfielder David Beall, forward Garfield Shaw, and midfielder Carlos Jaguande. MARCH 6, 1996 United States National Team midfielder Cobi Jones is the fifth player assigned to the Galaxy. MARCH 25, 1996 Waived forwards Chugger Adair and Adan Villalvazo; midfielders David Beal, Carlos Jaguande and Joey Leonetti; and defender David Vaudreuil to reduce roster to 22. The Galaxy selected midfielder Danny Peña as the first player taken in the MLS Supplemental Draft. The Galaxy later chose forward Brian Taylor, forward John Jones and defender Travis Rinker in the Supplemental Draft. In the MLS College Draft, Galaxy selected midfielder Steve Jolley, midfielder Shawn Boney and goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.
