DSEA-Retired begins another year - by Rich Phillips, president, DSEA- Retired A nother school year has already started and another DSEA-Retired year has begun as well; yes, even the retirees start off with a big event – the Annual Picnic. This year's picnic was held last month at Pizzadili Winery and Vineyard outside of Felton with good food, good social networking and good entertain- ment. The first of three Pre-Retirement Workshops will be held on Saturday, November 12 at the Dover DSEA office. If you're thinking of retiring or just want some information about retirement, please join us. This event has become more suc- cessful each year, and since we only have 40 seats at this workshop, you must register now. The registration form is printed here. There is no cost for DSEA members, and a nom- inal $5 charge for guests, spouses and/or friends. Light refreshments will be served. The deadline to register is October 28, 2011. Just cut out the form, fill it in and send with any payment if necessary, as indicated. We will have a representative from the State Office of Pensions who can guide you through the process if you're planning to retire this year. We also hope to have a representative from the Social Security Administration, if their budget allows. We're awaiting word on that from our contact.
