people JEMISON JALAL JEMISON Bent Image Lab in Portland, OR, recently added VFX artist Jalal Jemison as its new head of compositing/lead colorist. Jemison's cred- its include Pineapple Express, Borat and, most recently, Get Him to the Greek and the documen- tary How to Die in Oregon. He moved to Portland in 2000 and opened his own post company, Yard VFX. In 2006, he collaborated with Bent on Thom Yorke's music video, Harrowdown Hill. Since joining Bent full time, Jemison has worked on the stop-motion animated special Jingle All the Way for the Hallmark Channel and commercials for Post's Pebbles Boulders and Diet Dr. Pepper. KENNEDY BRENT KENNEDY Systems integration company Advanced Systems Group (ASG) in Emeryville, CA, has added Brent Kennedy to its technical services team. Kennedy previously served as media engineer and chief audio engineer at WTVI, the PBS member station in Charlotte, NC, for more than 15 years. There, he oversaw the station's digital conversion, including the design and installation of new studio produc- tion equipment and audio and video editing suites. He also redesigned and renovated the station's edit suites, creating an Apple Xsan/ Final Cut Pro environment. CORBETT J. JOHN CORBETT, YUVAL LEVY Gravity in NYC has named Emmy Award- winner J. John Corbett its new VFX supervi- sor/design director. Corbett recently won a 2011 Creative Arts Emmy Award in the "Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series" category for his work as lead compositor on the pilot episode of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. He joins Gravity from Brainstorm Digital's New York studio, where, in addition to other work, he was animation and design supervisor for the film The Adjustment Bureau. Prior to his work with Brainstorm, Cor- bett was a designer/director with Big Film Design. Gravity has also promoted Yuval Levy to the position of VFX supervisor on all upcoming feature film and television projects. BRIAN BEATRICE AudioEngine in NYC has signed sound designer/mixer Brian Beatrice, an audio vet- eran who has worked on short-form shows for Nickelodeon, Food Network, USA Network, Syfy Channel and truTV, as well as on commercials. His credits include the PBS programs Nature, Secrets of The Dead and Wide Angle, as well as documentaries for National Geographic Channel. Prior to joining AudioEngine, Beatrice spent time at Bionic and Tonic in New York. He began his career in 1997 at NYC's National Video Center. FUSELIER OLIVER FUSELIER Bi-coastal production company Tool has added Oliver Fuselier as executive producer, after having worked a freelance stint. Fuselier is an all-around production professional. He has worked around the world on numerous ad cam- paigns and has served as an EP at Incubator, Rhythm & Hues and Dektor Films. His career includes work with high profile musical artists, including Madonna, Tina Turner, Paula Abdul, Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith. HAZAN MICHAEL HAZAN, LEWIS FENTON Juma Entertainment in Burbank has hired unscripted television veteran Michael Hazan as head of development/West Coast and co- executive producer. Hazan previously served as a supervising producer of unscripted TV series at Krasnow Productions and Fremantle Media. His credits include Hole in the Wall, What Chilli Wants 1&2 and Average Joe 1-4.
