The Matrox Mojito 4K is a quad 3G-SDI, 4K video card that's designed for use with Adobe Creative Cloud professional video editing tools on Windows platforms. It provides realtime monitoring and output of video footage at resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and at frame rates up to 60fps in 4K. A 10-bit H.264 intra-frame rendering codec en- ables full raster video previews, making Mojito 4K well suited for 2K, QFHD and 4K workfl ows. The Matrox Mojito 4K is priced at $1,995. Matrox drivers for the next update of Adobe Creative Cloud will be available to registered Matrox Mojito 4K users as a free download from the Matrox Website after the updates are available via Adobe Creative Cloud. IO UNVEILS COMPACT 4K CAMERA LONDON, ONTARIO — IO Industries Inc. (www.ioindustries.com) showed its new 4KSDI camera at IBC 2014 last month. The 4KSDI is a single-piece 4K/UHD camera head with 3G/HD-SDI outputs for connection to separate recorders and monitors. It features a Super-35mm global shutter sensor, interchangeable lens mount, and multiple output formats to support vari- ous applications. The 4KSDI is designed to get tight shots in diffi cult locations. Flexible lens mount options include PL, Nikon F and Canon EF. With four 3G/HD- SDI outputs, connection to peripheral devices is made easy. Depending on the output format, either two or four cables are needed to connect the 4KSDI to a growing selection of 4K/UHD fi eld recorders, monitors, and live production switchers. For multi-camera confi gurations, either stereoscopic or panoramic, precise camera synchronization is possible using a tri-level sync reference. The camera can capture DCI 4K (4,096 x 2,160) and UHD (3,840 x 2,160) output formats. It off ers 10-bit 4:2:2/Raw recording at up to 60p or 10-bit 4:4:4 at up to 30p. FORBIDDEN RELEASES FORSCENE CLOUD EDITING FOR IPAD LONDON — Forbidden Technologies (www.forbidden.co.uk) has released a Forscene mobile app for iPad. The Forscene app gives iPad users another tool for connecting with the Forscene cloud on the go and gives new users an introduction to Forscene. Users can tag clips, perform rough cut edits, and upload and download clips, making it easier to prepare video for full editing in Forscene or other nonlinear editing systems. The Forscene iPad app is available now for download from the Apple App Store and has already been used on a number of productions. An Android version is also available from the Google Play Store.
