DELL DELIVERS NEW PRECISION WORKSTATIONS ROUND ROCK, TX — First introduced at the SIG- GRAPH show in August, Dell (www.dell.com) is now shipping its new tower and rack Precision workstations, which include high-performance components such as Intel's new Xeon E5 3 processors. The line-up is aimed at professionals who rendering visual eff ects for Hollywood fi lms, design in AutoCAD for engineering projects, or generate complicated fi nancial models. The new Precision Tower 5810, Precision Tower 7810, Precision Tower 7910 and Precision Rack 7910 have been revamped to perform up to 4.5 times faster than the previous generation and have double the memory capacity with 2133MHz DDR4 memory. The systems also feature a choice of the latest AMD FirePro and Nvidia Quadro pro- fessional-grade graphics technology. The new tower systems have the option of Thunderbolt 2 technology, which allows for faster transport speeds and simultaneous 4K video fi le transfer. Acoustics have been improved so that the systems run considerably quieter. The Dell Tower 7910, for example, runs up to 49 percent quieter under heavy processor workloads. All of the core system components have been refreshed. AMD FirePro and Nvidia Quadro professional-grade graphics technology deliver faster speeds and increased memory capacity over prior generations. The updated tower workstations include the compact, single-socket Dell Precision Tower 5810 and dual-processor Dell Precision Tower 7810, along with the expandable dual processor Dell Precision Tower 7910. All of the towers feature Dell's unique chassis design for outstanding us- ability and quick access to internal components. Dell is also now off ering the Precision Rack 7910, which off ers all of the capabilities of the Tower 7910 in a 2U-rack form factor, including forthcoming qualifi cations of Citrix XenServer and VMware ESX hypervisors to support virtualized workstation environments with true worksta- tion-class graphics. The new line up of tower workstations will re- ceive a new version of the Dell Precision Optimiz- er, which was announced earlier this month. The Dell Precision Optimizer automatically confi gures workstation settings to maximize application performance. This can result in gains of up to 121 percent.
