The latest edition offers improvements to the import pipeline and model interaction in real time, as well as enhanced render speeds, especially when working with complex materials. KeyShot 2.2 includes native support for Autodesk AutoCAD, ensuring interoperability with leading CAD systems. Additional features new to Version 2.2 include: the preserva- tion of model structure from a CAD model, including all subassemblies; preservation of part/layer names; a part outline in the real-time window; the ability to move multi- ple objects; the ability to duplicate objects; and support for SolidWorks 2011, Catia V5, Autodesk Inventor 2011, DXF/DWG (AutoCAD), SketchUp 8, 3Dconnexion 3D mice, and foreign languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Polish. Luxion; www.keyshot.com WIN MAC VIDEO Expanded to Avid Singular Software, developer of workfl ow automation applications for digital media, has enhanced PluralEyes with expanded support for nonlinear editing applications, including Avid’s Media Composer and NewsCutter software applications. Plural- Eyes accelerates the workfl ow for multi- camera, multi-take, and dual-system audio productions by analyzing audio information and automatically synchronizing audio and video clips. For video producers of all skill levels, PluralEyes can be used for a range of projects, from weddings and live events to documentaries, commercials, and indie films. PluralEyes for Media Composer is now available for $149 running on Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. A 30- day free trial version of PluralEyes is also available for download. Singular Software; www.singularsoftware.com WIN SIMULATION Atmospheric Upgrade E-on software, makers of digital nature solutions and technologies, has unveiled Version 5 of its Ozone atmospheric plug- Bucket Rendering. Version 5 adds faster rendering; cloud cross shadowing, a user- controllable feature whereby clouds cast shadows on each other; and a library of more than 150 predefi ned atmospheric conditions and 140-plus preset cloud shapes. Ozone 5 runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and on Mac OS X 10.5+ (Mac Intel only) for 32 and 64 bits. Ozone 5 is available for $295, with upgrades from Ozone 4.0 available for $95. Ozone 5 employs E-on software’s Spectral 3 engine for the simulation and rendering of atmospheric effects, includ- ing realistic environments with volumetric clouds, accurate light dispersion, and natural phenomena, such as Godrays. Ozone 5 is compatible with V-Ray’s Sun and Sky technologies and MentalRay’s specifi c technologies, such as Sun&Sky, Photo metric Lights, and Distributed Phyx has released Phyx Stylist for the FxFactory platform by Noise Industries, developer of visual effects tools for the postproduction and broadcast markets. Phyx Stylist is a collection of genera- tors and filters designed to work with Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Motion, and Apple Final Cut Express. Phyx Stylist’s image processing tools help artists repli- cate the look of optical systems, generate realistic fog, re-light actors, remove unwanted haze from footage, and produce shim- mering stars, highlights, and illu- minations. Phyx Stylist includes five distinct filters and generators for adding effects and enhancing image qual- ity. Phyx Stylist is priced at $199.
