Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity – 103rd Anniversary Convention Alpha Phi Alpha was the first intercollegiate Greek- letter fraternity established for African-Americans in 1906. Today, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity develops leaders and promotes brotherhood and aca- demic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. National Dental Association – 97th Annual Convention The National Dental Association (NDA) is the largest and oldest organization of minority oral health profession- als in the world. The NDA has become a powerful voice for the health care rights of the underserved. The NDA was formed in 1913 as a forum for practicing African-American dentists who were denied membership in other oral health organizations. The mission of the NDA is to continually enhance the skills of itsmembers, recruit under-represented minorities into the profession, and create opportunities for research among its members and the communities they serve.
