bits & pieces Hollywood Edge’s three new collections H OLLYWOOD —Hollywood Edge, the library division of audio post studios Soundelux and Todd A/O, offers over 60 collections of effects, cartoon and ambiences, to sports, vehicles, sci- ence fiction and sound design. This year, Hollywood Edge is releasing three new collections. “Animal Planet” features animal sounds from around the world. Elements were recorded on six continents by naturalist Wolfgang Beyer, and in- clude exotic birds, horses, leopards, monkeys, llamas, rhinos, sheep, sea lions and penguins. Exotic ambi- ences are also included. “Mechanical Morphs” represents the most recent work from sound designers Richard Devine and Jim Stout.The release is well suited for science fiction and fantasy productions, and features robots, aliens, space- ships, futuristic landscapes, hi-tech interfaces and many other elements. Every sound was recorded and processed at 24-bit, 96kHz. Flowerwas cre- ated by Droga 5 and directed by @radical’s Dave Myers. Radium provided visual effects, which in- clude flower-like feathers that gently move with Rihanna’s seductive motions.
