CoMPetition Vasa Martinez of Sharkeez says his secret recipe ingredient is “love.” Dawn Leffler of the 900 Club and Waterman’s. Mikey Jerome of Hennessy’s in Hermosa Beach won’t tell his secret recipe to anyone, but his Bloody Mary brought him the second-place award. “Our location is number one in sales and volume,” insists the 27-year-old talent, who said the best thing about his Bloody Mary is its “distinctly delicious taste.” It’s a Tie for Third Place “My reputation is based on my great Bloody Marys,” says Vasa Martinez, bartender at Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach, who tied for third place with Dawn Leffler, who tends bar at the 900 Club in Manhattan Beach and Waterman’s in Hermosa.
