Digital Jungle targets music videos H OLLYWOOD — Digital Jungle Post (www.digijungle.com) has launched a music video division dubbed DJMV, which focuses on servicing clients working on music videos. The new entity follows the studio’s success on projects such as Come Back To Me for American Idol-winner David Cook, You’re Going Down by Sick Puppies, Dirty Girl by Aaron Fresh, and Something Like a Party from the School Gyrls. Digital Jungle is a 25,000-square-foot studio offering stereo 3D and 4K DI ser- vices,VFX for features, image enhancement and restoration, telecine, color correc- tion, editorial, audio and DVD authoring. Color grading for DJMV will take place in the studio’s screening room, which is powered by a Quantel Pablo and features a Barco 2K projector and a 21-foot-by-8-foot screen. John Scheer is head colorist. “We have created DJMV to provide workflow and client servicing specifically for the music video industry,” says Digital Jungle president Dennis Ho.“We’ve found through extensive experience how different the needs are between music videos versus film or TV projects. In music videos, the color grading is a central key to holding the audience attention captive. The color provides emotional subtext that sets the mood for the entire piece.” Paramount post complex to open next summer H OLLYWOOD — Paramount Pictures has completed the structure that will house its new post facility on its Hollywood lot.The nearly 90,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in the summer of 2011 and will become the centerpiece of The Studio at Paramount’s (www.thestudiosatparamount.com) post production complex, providing a complete range of services for filmed entertainment, broadcast and com- mercial productions. In addition, the facility will be networked, via the Technicolor Production Network, to Technicolor’s global facilities. This will allow pro- ducers to access the company’s array of post services remotely, including color grading and digital intermediate services, review and approval suites for visual effects, digital encoding and delivery services. The building will also feature 15,000 square feet of new editorial and pro- duction office space, which will be operated by The Studios at Paramount.
