Sound Libraries Man Made Music's Joel Beckerman honored L OS ANGELES — Composer Joel Beckerman recently won television's "Most Performed Themes and Underscore" award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) at the ASCAP 28th Annual Film & Television Music Awards, which was held at the Beverly Hilton, here. Beckerman is the founder of sonic branding consultancy Man Made Music (www.manmademusic.com). This is the eighth year in a row that he has earned the prestigious award, which recognizes composers whose combined work earned the highest number of performance credits on network, local and cable television in the category of themes and dramatic underscore for the year 2012. Beckerman's more notable projects Pictured (L-R) are ASCAP's senior VP, creative services, Sue Drew; Man Made Music's Joel Beckerman; and include the modernized theme for CBS's ASCAP's VP film & TV/new media, Shawn LeMone. Entertainment Tonight with will.i.am; the theme for the morning show CBS This Morning; the theme for the A&E series The Glades; the theme for ESPN's sports documentary films 30 for 30; FX's iconic FX Has The Movies theme, the music for the eighth season of Travel Channel's Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations; and the 2012 Super Bowl theme music inspired by John Williams' original composition, "Wide Receiver." 36 Post • August 2013 www.postmagazine.com 'Volatile' tracks from Hit House L OS ANGELES — The Hit House has released its latest music library, "Elementary Re:Action," which creative director Scott Miller touts as a collection of "volatile tracks designed to blow everything they touch away." The Hit House (www.thehithouse.com) specializes in custom music and sound design, particularly for trailers and commercials. Their recent work has been featured in campaigns for Lexus, Pepsi, Porsche and Red Bull, and in motion picture campaigns for Iron Man 3, The Lone Ranger, Despicable Me 2 and Epic. "Our new Elementary Re:Action library offers the ultimate catalyst to ignite your next action trailer," notes EP, Sally House. "When you hear them, you'll appreciate why these powerful compositions have titles like Helium, Cobalt, Xenon, Sulfur, Aluminum, Phosphorus, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Boron, Neon and Iron," adds Miller. "Let's just say, they do not hold anything back!" The Basalt track was recently licensed for use in the Iron Man 3 theatrical trailer.
