Game Sound: 'Company of Heroes 2' N EW YORK — Sumthing Else Music Works, which is dedicated to licensing and distributing video game soundtracks, recently released the original music soundtrack from Company of Heroes 2 (www.companyofheroes.com), the sequel to the highly rated strategy game. The Company of Heroes 2 Original Soundtrack is available as both a physical release and as a digital download at www.sumthwww.sumth ing.com, Amazon MP3, iTunes and other digital music sites. The soundtrack features the original score composed by Cris Velasco, who is known for his work on the Borderlands, God of War and Mass Effect franchises. Recorded with the Capellen Orchestra and Choir, the soundtrack features world-class orchestra musicians and choir from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. The original score majestically captures the solemn heroism and human tragedy of the Eastern Front conflict during World War II. Duck Sauce samples track from FirstCom C ARROLLTON, TX — The Grammy-nominated duo, Duck Sauce, recently premiered their new single and music video, It's You, which makes use of samples from FirstCom Music (www.firstcom.com). Duck Sauce consists of New Yorkers A-Trak (of Fool's Gold) and house legend Armand Van Helden. The new song is the first track off of their forthcoming album, "Quack." It's You makes use of catchy sound samples from a track of the same name, pulled from FirstCom Music's "OneMusic" library. OneMusic is an extensive and stylisticallydeep catalog of music that can be used for virtually any type of production. Music from this library is produced and updated by the team at Breed Music. "Quack" is due for release this fall on Casablanca Records. Philip Andelman directed the quirky video for the track. Ah2 intros new catalog, names Scott James VP V ALENCIA, CA — Ah2 Music composers and co-founders Jeff Lippencott and Mark T. Williams have released a new catalog titled "Filtered Music." The release is featured on the company's newly-designed Website (http://ah2music.com). The Filtered Music catalog features over 30,000 tracks that can be tailored to any range of applications, including TV, film, advertising, trailers, videogames or multimedia projects. The catalog spans a wide range of musical genres, including rock, Latin, pop, jazz, world, country and electronic. Each composition has been crafted to feature obvious edit points. Multiple mix versions are offered too. The company also recently named Scott James (pictured) its new vice president of business development. Prior to joining Ah2 Music, James held a series of senior positions over a 31-year career that includes time with both Universal Music Publishing Group and MCA Music Publishing. Most recently, James was executive VP, film, television, and synchronization/worldwide, with Universal Music Publishing Group. During that time, he led the 35-person film and television department.
