care about a cowboy doll and a plastic space ranger. Thirty-plus years later, that remains the goal. For me, there was something especially fun about returning to Buzz. After working on his original design more than three decades ago, I found myself back with him again, this time helping revisit the character as the High- Tech Edition Buzz Lightyears. After all these years, the technology around him has changed enormously. The basic job hasn't. Make the world support the story. This film was great fun to be part of. There was trust throughout the crew and a genuine sense of play in making it. Then, as always happens, the movie finishes and that crew family disperses to work on whatever comes next. Just as with the first one, I feel fortunate to have been part of it. But before we close the toy box, there are the Easter eggs. They've become part of the fun of these films, little things tucked into the world for audiences, and sometimes the crew, to discover. There are plenty hiding throughout Toy Story 5, including the Pizza Planet truck. One of my favorites, though, is much more personal. Look closely and you'll find Eggman Electronics, a reference to our late friend and longtime Pixar artist, Ralph Eggleston, who was the Art Director on the original Toy Story. Ralph was one of the four of us in that tiny Art Department all those years ago. More than thirty years later, his name is still there, tucked into the world. And like any good Toy Story film, there are plenty more hiding if you know where to look. ADG I. HI-TECH BUZZ TOYS EMERGE ON THE ISLAND. DIGITIAL CONCEPT ART BY CARLOS FELIPE LEÓN.
