The Secret Agent
Train Dreams
PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN
During the Birmingham Blitz of 1940, a reclusive crime lord is
dragged back into the underworld to navigate secret wartime
missions, battle inner demons and confront a deadly Nazi
conspiracy—the psychological fallout etched into every scarred
and shadowy corner of postwar Britain. Sites across northern
England reconstruct a moody, lawless world: Calke Abbey
and Calder Abbey in Cumbria combine to create his remote,
decaying country estate, while Bradford's Little Germany
District, the former Pilkington works in St. Helens and a disused
textile factory in Leeds stand in for bombed-out Birmingham.
The exterior of the iconic Garrison pub takes shape on Castle
Street in Manchester, as bombed-out factory districts, gloomy
canals and cobbled streets build a decaying atmosphere that
bleeds into the protagonist's fractured psyche.
THE SECRET AGENT
Fleeing political persecution during Brazil's military
dictatorship, a researcher and former teacher returns to his
hometown of Recife to reunite with his son and escape the
country. Recife's carefully preserved streets, institutions
and landmarks—extending to Olinda, Itambé, Carpina, São
Paulo and Brasília—shape an atmosphere of paranoia and
urban decay as the net closes around him. The historic
Ginásio Pernambucano hosts institutional scenes and chase
sequences, while the Edifício Tereza Cristina residential high-
rise intensifies tension during a major assassination sequence.
Carpina Dam, the Port of Recife, the Central Post Office and
the Art Deco grandeur of Cinema São Luiz reinforce themes of
cultural memory and collective resistance against the backdrop
of 1977 Brazil.
TRAIN DREAMS
Spanning eight decades in the Pacific Northwest, an
ordinary laborer witnesses the relentless march of progress
while grappling with grief and solitude after a devastating
loss—an intimate yet epic portrait of a logger's life marked
by hardship, beauty and quiet resilience. From wooden
train trestles and tunnels to moody old-growth forests
and a secluded pondside cabin, Washington State's wild
spaces evoke the simplicity and drama of frontier life.
Locations across Chewelah, Metaline Falls and Tekoa were
chosen for their authentic period atmosphere, frontier-
gothic remoteness and timeless small-town feel—together
conjuring a vanished America with quiet, meticulous
authenticity.
