LOCAL706.ORG • 55 W hen I was asked to department head the make-up department for Ransom Canyon S2, I knew I wanted to elevate each character's look while staying true to the heart of the series. My vision was to create make-up that felt authentic to the world—gritty, polished, and effortlessly natural. Joining an established show came with a tremendous sense of responsibility. As the new make-up team, we knew there would be a lot of eyes on our department, and I wanted to honor what audiences already loved while bringing a fresh level of detail and realism to every character. To ensure we all shared the same creative vision, production brought us in before filming began to conduct make-up tests with the principal cast. Those sessions were invaluable, allowing us to collaborate closely with the producers, directors, and camera department to fine-tune each look before the first day on set. That preparation gave us a strong creative foundation and ensured every character looked authentic from the moment the cameras started rolling. Working with Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly was a rewarding experience. Having collaborated with Josh on several previous projects, Tania was already very familiar with his features and how they translated on camera. The goal was to create a believable "no-make-up make-up" look that complemented his rugged cowboy character— natural, weathered, and authentic without ever appearing overdone. For Minka, the approach was equally understated. Her natural beauty lends itself perfectly to a less-is-more philosophy, so the focus ALL PHOTOS COURTESY OF NETFLIX was on enhancing rather than transforming. Soft, luminous, skin with a subtle sun-kissed glow brought warmth and dimension while allowing her effortless beauty to remain the focal point. It's a perfect example of how thoughtful, minimal make-up can have the greatest impact on screen. Tania used Armani Luminous silk mixed with Armani-tinted foundation, Chanel bronzing creme, Patrick Ta blush, Lucas Papaw lip balm and a few lash clusters applied under lashes.
