THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL Christmas Carol required a lot of fake food. They sculpted and cast a giant turkey, both raw and cooked, a goose, Christmas pudding, cheese, and much more. MUPPET STUNT COORDINATOR FRED BUCHHOLZ MUPPETS TONIGHT Often the grips would hoist Fred over the set in a bosun's chair to drop props from above. He dropped a foam grand piano on Clifford, a spaghetti pot over Miss Piggy's head, and foam bowling balls. The bowling balls were made from Nerf soccer balls. In a later episode, he turned them into cannon balls. At the last minute, the director asked if the cannon balls could smoke. They still had finger holes from when they were bowling balls, so he smoked a cigar while hanging in the bosun's chair and would blow smoke into the holes before he threw them. It worked! MUPPET WORKSHOP & MUPPETS SPECIAL EFFECTS FRED BUCHHOLZ CHILD'S PLAY PROPERTY MASTER ARTHUR SHIPPE FARSCAPE A series main character, Rygel, often floated on a throne sled. The illusion of weightlessness was complicated. The throne had to support the puppet mechanics and coordinated with the camera. And its multiple puppeteers had to work in sync to coordinate the puppet, the throne, and preserve the illusion. CREATURE SUPERVISOR DAVE ELSEY DINOSAURS PROPERTY MASTER DAVID MCGUIRE, PMG
