ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE www.postmagazine.com 25 POST MAR/APR 2026 MOMENTS LAB'S A.I. TOOLS HELP MANAGE MEDIA LIBRARIES NEW YORK CITY — Moments Lab (www.momentslab.com), with hubs in New York, Paris and London, is using its AI tools to help Sinclair Broadcast Group manage a vast collection of television media, much of which exists on 3/4-inch tape. According to Sinclair's Mike Palmer, the broadcast group includes 179 stations across dozens of markets. And while nearly 80 percent of the studio group's media may not have value, the remaining 20 percent has opportunities that tie in to the current news cycle. Palmer notes that it would be almost impossible to run the media past the heads of older video tape recorders (VTRs) due to a lack of tape heads, which wear out over time and use. This means the broadcaster has to gain insight into media before it's digitized. Moments Lab offers AI-powered tape-label intelligence, which helps predict what a piece of media may contain. The company currently has 15,000 users and analyzes roughly 3,000 hours of video daily using this process. At NAB, Moment Lab is showcasing the latest multimodal and agentic AI capabilities of its Video Discovery Platform. Moments Lab's Discovery Agent enables users to search their media library through conversational prompts. The agent returns relevant clips, quotes and precise moments across entire libraries or within a single long-form video. "The true impact of the Discovery Agent is its velocity," notes Phil Petitpont, CEO and co-founder of Moments Lab. "You simply ask for what you need in plain language and get precise, contextual results in seconds. The agent even makes suggestions to help fill narrative gaps. It's truly transforming how cre- ative teams work." Moments Lab's Discovery Agent is now in general availability. Other new features being shown at NAB include an agentic ecosystem, new collaborative workspaces, a lightweight application that bridges on-premise production and archive storage to cloud systems to enable AI-powered video search, and native panels for Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve, joining existing Adobe Premiere Pro integration. FOUNDRY'S GRIPTAPE ACQUISITION ACCELERATES A.I. INTEGRATION LONDON — Creative software developer Foundry (www.foundry.com) has completed the acquisition of Griptape (www.griptape.ai), the developer of an enterprise-grade AI orchestration platform. This acquisition accelerates Foundry's AI strategy, adding critical orchestration capabilities to further com- plement AI-powered features in the company's product portfolio, which began in 2021 with the release of CopyCat. The acquisition of Griptape will enable studios to orchestrate multiple AI models and agents within secure, profession- al workflows that connect seamlessly with Foundry's existing creative toolsets. As studios shift from experimentation to everyday production use, the need for better control of AI models is becoming critical. Griptape enables con- trolled access to rapidly-evolving open-source and commercial AI models in a user-friendly framework, while balancing the strict security and traceability required by major production environments. Foundry will continue to develop Griptape's offering, enhancing Griptape's strengths to meet the demands of VFX and animation pipelines, and will integrate with creative toolsets, including its popular compositing tool Nuke. "Our mission has always been to empower the world's most ambitious storytellers," says Jody Madden, CEO of Foundry. "By bringing Griptape into Foundry, we can provide the tools our customers want to realize their creative vision more efficiently, while retaining control. We've been investing in AI and ML capabilities for years, and many of our customers are already using AI- powered features daily. We are building the AI-first pipeline of the future, and Griptape is a critical piece of that foundation to accelerate our roadmap." "Foundry is the natural home for Griptape," adds Kyle Roche, founder & CEO of Griptape. "Their deep history in VFX and animation, combined with their industry-leading products, existing AI capabilities and incorporation of AI into core workflows, provides the perfect platform to scale our technology and reach every major studio globally."
