I can say I've loved every Production Designer I've worked with. And there's a special place in my heart for Tom Sanders....who helped make life worth living." Randall Wallace, director, Secretariat Writer and director Randall Wallace oversaw the induction of Thomas E. Sanders into the ADG Hall of Fame. A two-time Oscar nominee, Sanders worked with leading directors on films such as Saving Private Ryan, Dracula, Braveheart, Mission: Impossible II, After Earth, Crimson Peak and Secretariat. Or the chance to score some awards hardware, or the craft service table? No. The best part, the absolute best part, are the people you meet, you work with...the people you hang out with, the people you laugh with, you cry with... the relationships built over time." Bo Welch-Art Directors Lifetime Achievement Award winner "I love to draw, and I love to tell stories. You don't have a very long career if no one will hire you. So I'd like to thank the people that hired me over and over again. Lawrence G. Paull, David L. Snyder, J. Michael Riva, Stuart Baird, Richard Donner, Mr. Spielberg, and DJ Caruso." Tom Southwell-IMA Lifetime Achievement Award winner "The people who want you to succeed will help you, and for me, this has always been our ADG staff, councils, our executive director and IATSE leadership. All of you have made this possible, I am deeply honored to accept this award." Jann Engel-SDMM Lifetime Achievement Award winner "So many in this room have ridden the jagged path of being accepted as artists. The skepticism, the battles to make ends meet. It's hard. The occassional eye rolls...collectively, we've taken our symbolic tuft of camel hair attached to a stick and made great things."
