Banks: Being a part of, serving on the board of directors for over 20 years, eight of which as president, of Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), has been one of the most important times of my career. To have been able to be a part of a community that seeks to engage, enlighten and highlight the craft of sound has been an absolute joy. To have been able to be a part of a new era, collaborating with other organizations, the annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards, hosting a workshop in Germany and now witnessing how the organization continues to expand and encompass new territories has been a highlight to one's soul. It was an honor to serve alongside Paul Rodriguez, CeCe Hall and the board of directors who truly have the craft and membership at heart. Well, I am a bit of a rebel at heart and known to stand up for rights. Advocating for inclusion, jobs, work and each other, no matter what discipline, should be all of our fight and I was grateful to have had the opportunity to join other crafts in making our voices heard in the fight for new tax incentives. And yet there is definitely more work to do! P L A C E O F H O N O R : " I a m a b i t o f a r e b e l a t h e a r t a n d k n o w n t o s t a n d u p f o r r i g h t s , " B a n k s s a i d . And she was also fiercely supportive of realizing the director's vision."
