For Members SAG-AFTRA Contract Strategic Initiatives & Podcasts Director Shaine Griffin and National Director Sue-Anne Morrow head up the booth for the Podcast Zone at the 2025 Advertising Week Conference in New York. E very year, thousands from around the world gather in New York City for Advertising Week to discuss the latest trends, challenges and opportunities within the advertising space. This year's conference, held Oct. 6–9, brought a special focus on podcasts as an increasingly viable pathway for advertisers to reach potential consumers. SAG-AFTRA, which covers voice talent in both podcasting and audio advertising, partnered with Sounds Profitable, a media organization focused on the podcasting industry, in sponsoring the Podcast Zone. The Podcast Zone is a popular exhibition space dedicated to thoughtful conversation, networking and panel discussions around the ever-evolving podcast industry and the voice talent fueling that growth. As podcasting continues to be a growing area of work for SAG-AFTRA members, the union is dedicated to expanding its presence in this industry, as well as educating producers and potential employers about the value of SAG-AFTRA talent and the ease of SAG-AFTRA coverage through the Independent Podcast Agreement or MicroPod Agreement.
