6 W I N T E R 2 0 2 6 I C A S Q U A R T E R L Y It's been an event-heavy past couple of months here at the Cinema Audio Society— and we're not slowing down. While you'll find coverage of the very successful Sounding Board v5.0 in our Spring issue, you'll see other member-focused events recapped in this issue. Be sure to check your inbox for info on the upcoming CAS Holiday Party and Annual Membership Meeting that's taking place on December 13, along with other events. As you've seen, we're excited to announce re-recording mixer Skip Lievsay CAS as this year's CAS Career Achievement recipient and Guillermo del Toro as this year's Filmmaker Award honoree! Both will be celebrated at the 62nd CAS Awards on March 7, and interviews with each will be published in our Spring issue. Back to this issue, in his "Meet the Mixers: Going International" article, Kurt Kassulke CAS checks in with some of our international members to hear their thoughts on U.S-based projects handling production and/ or post in their home countries. Also on the international front, Devendra Cleary CAS stops by the Genelec factory in Finland to learn not only about technology but also culture and community. Back in the States, CAS Associate Sam Casas sits down with supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer Lucien Palmer CAS MPSE to discuss how he handles both "sides" of the post process in the article "Bridging Editing and the Mix." From the "History Is Cool" department, Patrick Spain CAS visits the Les Paul Recording Studio to see (and hear) how the Les Paul Foundation is keeping the musician and inventor's legacy alive—and allowing others to record with his custom gear. Finally, we have lots of fun submissions to "The Lighter Side" and "Been There Done That" sections that are sure to bring a smile. Thank you for taking the time to explore this issue.
