www.postmagazine.com 5 POST SEPT/OCT 2025 BITS & PIECES ADOBE BRINGS PREMIERE TO IPHONE SAN JOSE, CA — Adobe (adobe.com) made several announcements leading up to the September IBC2025 show that took place in Amsterdam. The com- pany recently released an iPhone version of its Premiere editing solution, with an Android version also in development. The app is currently available for free. Premiere on iPhone is designed for mobile content creation, combining pro-quality tools, studio-grade audio and many of the assets creators need to make high-quality video content. Adobe also announced that it will "retire" Premiere Rush, and end technical support one year from now. Premiere on iPhone will be familiar to those who have used Premiere's desk- top experience. Users will recognize the multi-track timeline, with its vi- brant colors and dynamic audio waveforms. They will have the ability to trim, layer and fine-tune media with frame-accurate precision. Additional features include automatic captions with stylized subtitles; unlimited video, audio and text layers; and support for 4K HDR. The app allows users to begin a project on their mobile system and finish on their desktop. Mobile users can instantly export content to TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Instagram with one tap, and the app can automatically resize video for each platform, keeping the main action in-frame. Creative assets include millions of stickers, images, fonts and mu- sic. And Adobe Firefly is built-in, letting users generate unique visuals through generative AI. Voice and text can be used to generate sound effects, and the Enhance Speech feature helps combat noisy environ- ments. In addition to the app being free, there are no ads or watermarks. Users only pay for generative credits or cloud storage. The desktop version of Premiere Pro also sees enhancements with the 25.5 release, which was released on September 9th. New features include more than 90 realtime GPU-accelerated transitions, such as glitch and glow, and a Surprise Me feature that creates thousands of variations of each, all thanks to technology that's been integrated via the company's recent Film Impact acquisition. Additional enhancements include waveforms remaining visible when clips are dragged, the ability to adjust multiple fades at the same time, and playback speed improvements. Defaults can also be set for text and captions.
