PRODUCTS RED'S NEW V-RAPTOR OUTFITTED WITH 'ESSENTIAL' FEATURES FOOTHILL RANCH, CA — Red Digital Cinema (red.com) has unveiled the V-Raptor XE, the newest addition to its Z Cinema camera lineup. The stream- lined version of the V-Raptor [X] curates the essential tools for cinematic sto- rytelling while offering improved boot times as well as all-new sensor optimiza- tion for more efficient use of power. Designed for independent creators looking for uncompromising image quality, the XE delivers large-format, cinema-grade features at a price point of $14,995. The E in XE stands for "essentials." The new camera retains Red's 8K large-format (VV) global shutter sensor found in the V-Raptor [X] series, en- suring the cinematic image fidelity, dynamic range and low-light performance that filmmakers are familiar with. Red is targeting indie filmmakers, documentarians, commercial shoot- ers and storytellers who require cinema-grade visuals without the need for every advanced feature found in a fully-loaded model. Key features include the ability to shoot 8K VV at up to 60fps; 6K S35 at up to 80fps; 4K at up to 120fps; and 2K up to 240fps. A forthcoming firmware update will provide a reduced boot time and sensor power consumption. The XE's low-light capabilities include 17 stops, and mount choices include RF or Nikon Z. The compact body weighs in at just over four pounds, allowing for flexibility in a range of shooting environments. In addition, the XE is compatible with existing V-Raptor accessories. V-Raptor XE is available to order today and begins shipping in October. A Cine Essentials Pack, priced at $19,995, will include the XE camera, a PL w/ electronic ND filter adapter pack, a DSMC3 Red Touch 7.0-inch LCD and the Outrigger Handle. Komodo and Komodo-X owners can trade in their camera and receive credit towards the purchase of the new V-Raptor XE or [X] camera or pack. PREVIS PRO ADDS ANIMATICS TO STORYBOARDING APP NEW YORK CITY — Previs Pro (previspro.com), the developer of a storyboard- ing and previsualization app for the iPhone, iPad and Mac OS, has released Previs Pro 3. The centerpiece of the new release is the introduction of animat- ics, a feature that incorporates motion, timing and pacing directly into the visual-planning process. Users can now animate scenes by moving cameras, actors, props and lighting without having to overcome the steep learning curve of traditional 3D or video-editing software. Another advancement in Previs Pro 3 is the full release of Light Grade, which exits beta to become a core creative tool. Light Grade enables users to intuitively shape the lighting of their scenes, adjusting mood, time of day and tone with just a few taps or natural language prompts. This feature significantly accelerates visual development and enhances pre-production quality. Thanks to built-in AI-powered features, Previs Pro puts the user at the center of each shot, framing, blocking and styling scenes with custom props and lighting conditions. AI is used to smooth the output without changing directorial choices. The application is also more accessible now, thanks to a free pricing tier. Free plan users can generate unlimited watermarked storyboards, use up to three AI-generated props and create one animatic sequence. www.postmagazine.com 25 POST SEPT/OCT 2025
