drafting the plans. We stayed true to real layouts where possible, while adapting for story needs. Episode 107 depicts the day everything changes: when the super volcano erupts, and President Bradford and Agent Xavier Collins are evacuated onto Air Force One. The crew built the Air Force One set on stage using a multi-axis airbag system to create realistic turbulence. The entire fuselage could pitch and roll, allowing us to capture the chaos of their escape as the world literally falls apart outside. The interior was meticulously detailed to match the actual Air Force One, with every element designed to sell the urgency of those final moments before entering the bunker. The Mountain Bunker: Engineering Paradise Conceptually, the bunker was the Art Department's biggest challenge. Creating it required understanding its complete infrastructure: construction, power, water, food, waste management, lighting, ventilation, climate control, safety and surveillance—how does this place function? Although not all of it would appear on screen, we needed to establish the rules and layout. One of my first drawings was a section view through the bunker, calculating the LED sky panels' surface area and the volume of rock removed to build the city. The timeline Sinatra faces is daunting: ten years from breaking ground to completion. I imagined the construction in phases—first, the massive excavation using tunnel-boring machines, then the installation of the LED dome infrastructure, followed by the city's construction from the ground up. Detailed graphics were created showing the "Our Mountain Home" timeline, illustrating how crews would work around the clock, how materials would be transported A. WEST WING PLANS.
