36 FALL 2025 just hilarious, being a 30-something-year-old millennial being able to live out the young girl's dreams of "Oh, now I'm here!" Because you do this job and I feel like you do have those full-circle moments where you're like, "Oh my god! When I was a kid, I was obsessed with this, and now I'm here meeting this actor now, having this experience that I probably never in my wildest dreams thought I would have." Was there anything unique about your experience compared to the other shows that you've worked on? TZ: The movie is all about mother-daughter relationships and we had two crew members who were pregnant with lile girls at the time. It was just a very heartfelt, heartwarming situation, and I had not experienced that on a set yet where even an actress would want to celebrate two of the crew members in such a heartfelt way like it was. Jamie Lee Curtis is incredible, and I think that when she is on set, she makes sure she knows everybody, and everybody feels like a family. I think that it was nice to have that strong female energy, even from Jamie, she's like a spark plug. She lights anything on fire, and everybody, she commands a room. She writes children's books, which at the time I didn't know, and she gave a lovely gi of children's books to us with a signature on each book. She's just a very thoughtful, lovely human being, and so that definitely radiated throughout the set for sure. She had cake and balloons, and a lile surprise for both the ladies on one of the last days. She made this big, beautiful speech about how mother-daughter relationships are important, and how this film relies heavily on the mother-daughter experience. That made the show real and meaningful because you don't realize how what we work on really affects people. What do you enjoy about doing trailer as opposed to doing set? TZ: I feel like there are pluses and minuses to all portions of each position, but I respect both positions. Hugely. I feel like when I work on set, it's a different world, and there are a lot of challenges. I feel like when I do trailer, it's the same situation. So, whenever I'm in either position, I'm very respectful to whoever's doing set if I'm on trailer, and whoever's doing trailer if I'm on set because I get that there are a lot of challenges that other people don't see at that time. What I particularly love about trailer is that I get to create my own lile world. I feel like it's just kind of creating a safe space for everybody in the department to come in and do what Above: (left to right) Costume Designer Natalie O'Brien; Trailer Costumer, Tina Zepeda; Set Costumer, Tiffany Lazette Powers; Key Costumer, Lisa Marie Evans; Set Costumer, Libby Culligan; Property Master, Josh Bramer at the premiere of Freakier Friday.
