MOTIONPICTUREC O S T U M E R S .O R G 31 reaky Friday has a long history exploring the themes of empathy, teamwork, and the meaning of family. Composer, screenwriter, and author Mary Rodgers first wrote the novel in 1972 and adapted it herself to the screen for the 1975 version, starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris in the respective roles as Annabel and Ellen Andrews. The story of body swapping mother/daughter so they can gain perspective for each other's lives was updated in the 2003 version, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess and Anna Coleman. The long-awaited follow-up, Freakier Friday, will once again see Tess and Anna swapping bodies. But this time there are two more characters caught up in the drama when Anna's daughter, Harper, and Anna's soon-to-be stepdaughter, Lily, also find themselves living someone else's life. Part of what makes this mother/daughter story special is the recurring themes of strong female bonds; and those bonds are also reflected within its crew and costume team. The Costumer Quarterly caught up with some of the members of Costume Designer Nataile O'Brien's talented Local 705 team: Key Lisa Marie Evans, Trailer Tina Zepeda, and set partners Libby Culligan and Tiffany Lazee.
